Traffic Advisory: Outside Phase Construction Begins Between 10th-11th Streets for Broad Street Improvement Project

Beginning on September 22nd, the next phase of construction for the Broad Street Improvements Project will commence. Crews will begin the outside phase of construction between 10th Street and 11th Street.

During this time, crews will be installing the new bike path and sidewalk concrete. A representative from the City of Augusta and/or construction contractor E.R. Snell will visit each business to coordinate the most appropriate time to remove and replace the concrete in front of each location.

Temporary access to businesses will be maintained using a compacted stone surface while the existing concrete is removed and replaced. Access may be temporarily limited during active construction, but businesses will remain accessible. Pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the construction area and follow all posted signs and directions.

The City of Augusta and Augusta Engineering appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this improvement effort.
