REMINDER: Broad Street Improvement Project – Traffic Update

This is a reminder that construction continues along Broad Street, with new work beginning October 13.

New Work Starting October 13:

Crews will begin inside-median construction between 9th Street heading west toward 13th Street. A single 11-foot travel lane will remain open in both directions, with parking along the shoulders.

This phase will remove some on-street parking in the area. Parking in the recessed median will no longer be accessible and will be redirected to the 9th Street parking deck. Additional signage will be installed to guide motorists and alternative parking areas are being assessed. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians during this construction.

Ongoing Work:

• 13th Street to 15th Street: Crews continue asphalt and concrete demolition between St. Sebastian Way and 13th Street, with underground utility installation also underway. One lane of traffic is expected to reopen the first week of November. Sidewalk work is ongoing between 15th Street and St. Sebastian Way.

• James Brown Linear Park (8th to 9th Streets): Contractors have begun work to install underground utilities, electrical conduits and irrigation lines.

The City appreciates the community’s continued patience and cooperation. Please use caution when driving through active work zones and follow posted detour and parking signs.
