6th Street is classified as a local street with an average daily volume of 2,500 vehicle per day. Notable landmarks along this street include the railroad tracks that run down the middle of the street, the Municipal Building, the Brunch House, Hildebrandt’s, the American Dime Museum, the Augusta Museum of History, St. Paul’s Church, and the entrance to the Augusta Riverwalk. This project will improve the segment between Fenwick Street and Reynolds Street with new paving, sidewalks, handicap facilities, and street lighting. This project has a projected budget of $6.8 million dollars.
