Changes to Partial Lane Closures on Telfair Street Between 5th and 6th Streets

Construction is progressing on Telfair Street. Beginning Wednesday, February 18 the partial lane closures will change on Telfair Street between 6th Street and 5th Street. A full closure will begin at the Augusta Jewish Museum (525 Telfair Street) and extends to the intersection of 5th Street. Internal lanes from Augusta Jewish Museum to 6th Street will be open and external lanes will be closed. Motorists will be able to access the municipal building via Telfair Street. While this work will temporarily close driveway access along Telfair Street, parking for the IT Department and Augusta Wellness remains available and can be accessed via Greene Street. An onsite detour will be clearly marked to assist motorists. Detour Information Traveling East: Please use 6th Street to Greene Street, then take 5th Street to return to Telfair Street. Traveling West: Please use 5th Street to Greene Street, then take 6th Street to return to Telfair Street.
